Heybridge is a large village adjacent to Maldon, near the River Blackwater. Heybridge has several residential areas, primary school and Bentall’s shopping complex. The Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation Canal runs through Heybridge where it terminates at Heybridge Basin. There are some lovely walks at Elms Farm Park and Drapers Farm, and on the outskirts of the village Chigborough Lakes can be found.
Heybridge Basin is a picturesque village that sits on the River Blackwater. It is popular with both locals and visitors alike,and is an excellent place to enjoy a leisurely day with family and friends. There are two pubs along with lovely tea rooms adjacent to the lock. The Basin offers seawall walks and the area is renowned for its sailing facilities.
